It’s been one month since the death of the Delhi gang rape victim. What has changed for women?

Sexual assault and violence against women is an enduring problem in India that came to the fore this winter, when the country was galvanized by the savage rape — and subsequent death — of a 23-year-old woman in New Delhi. Her attack in December was followed by weeks of protests and vigils across India, where neither the police nor the judicial system is seen as adequately protecting women and girls.
